Yesterday, the OCFD faced an uphill battle. The fire at 4829 Central Avenue had a big head start before it was detected and 911 was notified. The first arriving crews faced multiple structures heavily involved in fire. Water resources hampered initial operations. The OCFD along with assistance from Marmora FD, Strathmere FD, Margate FD, Upper Twp Rescue Squad, Tri-Care and AtlantiCare Paramedics worked seamlessly to fight the fire as well as protect the rest of Ocean City during the incident. We would like to thank the mutual aid companies for assisting us. Kudos to the members of the OCFD as they once again faced adversity and contained the fire with minimal spread to other structures. Excellent job by all involved and thankfully no injuries occurred.

Here is a picture of some of the retired members of the Ocean City Fire Department that attended a retirement dinner last night. They are a great group of men that help build the strong reputation that is the foundation of the OCFD.
