The ANSWER Team's rescue boat is back in the water and ready to begin serving our boaters and beachgoers this season!

The Area Network of Shore Water Emergency Responders (ANSWER) Team is an all-volunteer group of over 100 first responders that provides water rescue service to Neptune Township, Ocean Grove Beaches, Shark River, the Shark River Inlet, Neptune City, Avon-by-the-Sea, Bradley Beach, and provides aid to surrounding towns. While the summer is our busiest time of year, the ANSWER Team responds to calls for service year-round and can activate our boat, divers, rescue swimmers, and other responders at any time in the event of an emergency.

At the beginning of April, the team responded to a in a stream in Neptune Township where a fisherman had fallen in and was unable to climb out. Luckily, Neptune Township Police officers (including an officer who also serves as an ANSWER rescue swimmer) were able to enter the creek and help the man out to be evaluated by EMS. That same weekend, team leadership held a pre-season preparation meeting to discuss goals and responsibilities for the coming months to ensure we are able to provide the same professional level of service that we have for the past 25 years.

Ocean Grove First Aid Squad: On Friday, May 15th, our 2 crews enjoyed dinner from Local Smoke BBQ and wanted to thank Pastor Lynn and Crescent Avenue Presbyterian Church, Plainfield, NJ, for the gift card. And also thank you for the gift card for Bruno’s - that will probably go to good use this week! Yum!
