Today, we join our community and the nation in celebrating Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day.
On June 19, 1865, freedom finally reached the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas—marking a monumental step forward in our country's history.
At the Monmouth County Fire Marshal’s Office and Fire Academy, our mission is to protect, serve, train and uplift every single member of our diverse community. Today is a day to reflect on our shared history, celebrate progress, and recommit ourselves to liberty and justice for all.

🚨 When you see flashing lights on the highway, please, Move Over and Slow Down!
Summer travel means more cars on the road, increasing the danger for our firefighters, police officers, and tow truck drivers working on the shoulder. If you see emergency vehicles stopped on the side of the road:
1️⃣ Change lanes away from the emergency if it is safe to do so.
2️⃣ Slow down significantly below the speed limit if you cannot safely change lanes.

Help us get home safely to our families so we can keep protecting yours. ❤️
