🍦🚔 Scoops with the Troops was a Sweet Success! 🚔🍦

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for Scoops with the Troops, our amazing community members and even the visitors spending time in Ocean Shores! It was wonderful sharing conversation, laughter, and a few scoops while getting to know one another a little better. 😊

A special thank you to Mike Doolittle and the incredible staff at Peppermint Parlor for being such gracious hosts. Your hospitality, community spirit, and support helped make this event a tremendous success, and we are truly grateful! 🍨👏

As promised, we also shared a special scoop in memory of one of our followers’ fallen soldier friends. 🇺🇸❤️ It was a small gesture, but an important reminder that honoring those who served and sacrificed is something we never take lightly.

Events like this remind me why I am so proud to serve as your Chief of Police. We are fortunate to be part of a community that consistently shows up, supports one another, and takes the time to connect. That spirit is what makes Ocean Shores such a special place.

🇺🇸 Memorial Day 🇺🇸

As many enjoy the long weekend, sunshine, and everything our beach community has to offer, we encourage everyone to pause and remember the true meaning of Memorial Day.

It is not simply a holiday or the unofficial start of summer. It is a day of remembrance for the brave men and women of our Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation and the freedoms we enjoy every day.

Their courage, selflessness, and dedication will never be forgotten.

From all of us at the Ocean Shores Police Department, we honor the fallen, remember their families, and express our deepest gratitude to those who gave everything for our country.

Please celebrate responsibly, look out for one another, and take a moment today to reflect on the true cost of freedom.

⚠️ Traffic Advisory – SR 115 ⚠️

Thursday, May 21, 2026

The southbound lane of SR 115 will be closed from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., resulting in alternating one-way traffic between the Ocean City State Park entrance and North Beach High School.

Drivers should expect delays of up to 20 minutes due to road shoulder work in the area.

🚔 IN CUSTODY 🚔

Officer Roller investigated a residential burglary at a residence on Duck Lake Dr. NE involving a stolen LG washer and dryer. Through follow-up investigation the stolen property was located.

During the arrest, officers also recovered a small amount of suspected methamphetamine. The suspect later confessed to the crime.

Charges include:
🔹 Residential Burglary
🔹 Theft 2nd Degree
🔹 False Statements to a Public Servant

Outstanding work by Officer Roller and all involved. 👏

🚙🎉 PARADE REMINDER – TODAY AT 1 PM 🎉🚙

The Jeeps Go Topless 4 Clean Shores parade kicks off today at 1:00 PM. Expect temporary traffic delays along portions of Duck Lake Drive, Chance a La Mer, Marine View Drive, and the Point Brown/beach approach area.

Please drive carefully, watch for pedestrians, and be mindful of wildlife along the roadway and beach corridors.
