🌟 Ocean Springs Police Officers and Mayor Cox Making Memories at Lost Pizza’s Yearbook Signing Party! 🍕📖

Ocean Springs Police Department and Mayor Bobby Cox showed up and showed out at Lost Pizza Co. in Ocean Springs for the Annual Yearbook Signing Party!
Officers and Mayor Cox spent the evening signing yearbooks, chatting with students and families, and helping make sure no kid goes into summer without those special signatures and community connections. It’s events like this that remind us how strong our community is when local leaders, first responders, businesses, and families come together.
Huge shoutout to Lost Pizza for hosting this awesome tradition again — you all are legends for creating this space every year! 🙌

5/18/26 - 3:24 P.M. -- This afternoon, OSHS went into what OSSD refers to as a “Shelter-in-Place” for precautionary reasons due to a phone-in threat made to the campus. Administration immediately notified authorities, and OSSD PD, the Ocean Springs Police Department, and the Jackson County Sheriff's Department worked to secure and sweep the campus.

We are thankful to report that students and staff were not in danger at any point. While campus has been cleared by multiple law enforcement agencies, OSHS will remain in shelter-in-place until dismissal at 3:51 p.m. Checkouts are not permitted and visitors may not enter the building. Please expect delays during dismissal this afternoon.

We will provide updates as soon as they are available.

We thank you for your patience and understanding. Please know that the safety of our students is our #1 priority.

🚨 Click It or Ticket is back, and the Ocean Springs Police Department is hitting the roads to keep our community safe!

Starting today through May 31, our officers — along with state and local law enforcement partners — will be out in full force with increased seatbelt enforcement and child safety seat checks as part of this important national campaign.

Officers will increase patrols to ensure drivers, passengers, and especially our youngest passengers are properly buckled up in seatbelts or correctly secured in child safety seats and booster seats.

Wearing your seatbelt is the single most effective way to protect yourself and your passengers in a crash — it’s quick, it’s easy, and it saves lives. This life-saving campaign is conducted in partnership with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
Buckle up every trip. Every time. No exceptions.

We don’t want to write tickets — we want to see you and your family safe on the roads. Let’s make this a safe Memorial Day and summer on the roads of Ocean Springs!

📍 Keep an eye out for OSPD officers in marked units conducting Click It or Ticket patrols.

5/18/26 - 2:40 p.m. At this time, we can report that all students and staff members are safe.

Out of an abundance of caution, OSHS will remain in shelter-in-place until given the all-clear by law enforcement. Please note that in an emergency, parents/guardians should not come to the school as it will interfere with emergency operations, and increased traffic will make it difficult for emergency vehicles to get on campus. Students will not be able to leave campus or be checked out until the shelter-in-place has been lifted. We will provide updates as soon as they are available.

The safety and welfare of our students and staff remain the highest priority for OSSD. We thank you for your patience and understanding. Please know that the safety of our students is our #1 priority.

Proud to share that officers from the Ocean Springs Police Department attended the Keesler Air Force Base Police Week ceremony this week.
Officer Daehnert delivered a thoughtful speech honoring the service, sacrifice, and dedication of law enforcement officers across our community and nation during National Police Week.
Events like this strengthen partnerships between local agencies and our military partners at Keesler AFB while reminding us all of the importance of the Thin Blue Line.
