Bring your worn or unserviceable American flags for a dignified retirement ceremony led by Commander Michael Palutis of the Disabled American Veterans. Through presentations, proclamations, and reflections on the meaning of our nation’s flag, we will honor our shared heritage and help make America’s 250th anniversary celebration even more meaningful.

I want to thank Senator Gopal, the DEP permitting team and the Governor’s office for inviting me to give my perspective as a Mayor on how we can cut red tape and streamline permitting processes here in Ocean Township and across NJ. Really great conversations with important work ahead!

It was great to join a fellow Ocean Township resident, who runs Asbury Park’s economic development and UEZ, Sylvia Sylvia and many others for a productive dialogue!

I want to clarify recent comments regarding the Township’s newly combined Board of Adjustment and Planning Board. The board merger, approved by voters last November, was designed to improve efficiency, consistency, and service to residents.

Our current board is made up of dedicated and experienced volunteers who have served the Township professionally and responsibly. Claims that board appointments were changed to give the mayor sole authority are false; in fact, the ordinance was amended to ensure the full Council has a role in the appointment process.

I support maintaining a qualified, experienced, and dedicated board; I will continue to encourage residents interested in serving to apply through the Township’s established process.
