The Department of Human Services of the Township of Ocean, comprised of the Community Services Office, the Recreation Office, and the non-profit school-aged childcare program, Project Extend, provides integrated and comprehensive services that promote the welfare of the community, the positive development of youth, and the strengthening of families.

A Flag Day ceremony, on Sunday, June 14th, will take place at the Veterans' Monument at 703 Deal Road. Commander Michael Palutis, from the Disabled American Veterans, will assist residents with a Flag Retirement Ceremony for flags that are worn and no longer fit for display. Presentations, proclamations and reflections as well as a display of 250 flags will make this event another way to celebration our nation's semiquincentennial!

Our seniors received valuable emergency preparedness information and practical advice yesterday from the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office / Office of Emergency Management (OEM), in partnership with the Monmouth County Division on Aging, Disabilities & Veterans Services (MCADVS). Special thanks to our own OEM and Human Services Department for helping keep our residents informed, prepared, and safe!
