EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

BOROUGH ADMINISTRATOR - OCEANPORT BOROUGH, Monmouth County, NJ. Oceanport is a 3.9 square mile municipality having a population of 5,800+ residents, an annual budget of approximately $8 million, which operates under a Mayor-Council form of government. The Borough is seeking a strong leader with excellent communication and managerial skills to deal with all levels of government and community, to serve under the Mayor's and Councils' direction and control. The Business Administrator shall be responsible for overseeing departmental operations, supervising and assisting in the preparation of budgets and administering budget controls, advising on policy matters, personnel issues and administrative problems, acting as liaison between the administration and the Governing Body, and participating in labor relations, contract negotiations, human resources, grant writing and redevelopment matters. Attendance at Borough Council Meetings is required. The successful candidate will face unique challenges beyond day to day operations, including, but not limited to, the closing of Fort Monmouth, interacting and negotiating with FMERA regarding Reuse and Redevelopment issues, Post-Sandy Recovery, Monmouth Park Race Track, FEMA, COAH, and PILOT agreements. Minimum education level: Bachelor's Degree is required; Master's Degree in Public Administration (or related area) and previous service as a municipal government administrator preferred; additional certifications and/or licenses a plus. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Borough reserves the right to interview candidates prior to deadline.
