We had a wonderful evening honoring Mary Matava as San Diego County Farm Bureau's Farmer of Year! It's always a great time celebrating San Diego County farmers and supporting our local San Diego Ag in the Classroom advocacy programs. The evening was made complete with our wonderful speakers Mike Levin, Deputy Mayor Ryan Keim, Shannon Douglass, Dana Groot, Mike Knighten, and Neil Nagata.

Be Prepared! Free Sand Bags for Oceanside Residents

We usually get a few days notice when a big storm is heading our way. If your home or business is prone to flooding and/or erosion, plan ahead to obtain sandbags. Oceanside residents can pick up free sand and unfilled sandbags (ID required). Please remember to bring a shovel for self-filling. Pick them up at:

Moody's El Corazon Recycling, located at 3210 Oceanside Boulevard. Moody's is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Call ahead before you go because Moody's sometimes closes during bad weather. Phone (760) 433-3316.
