These Marines have dedicated themselves to growth, learning, and embodying the values of honor and courage. As they step into their next roles, they carry with them the knowledge and camaraderie forged during this transformative journey. Here's to new beginnings and continued success!

Embracing the spirit of SSgt Reckless, the Marines and Sailors of CLR-1 enjoyed a visit from the Marine Corps Mounted Color Guard out of Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow, CA. Established in 1967 to embody the spirit of the American Legation in Peking, China, they were the first and only officially designated cavalry detachment in the Marine Corps. The “Horse Marines” continue the tradition of mounted Marines and helps keep the story of Marines like SSgt Reckless alive to this day.

It’s been over a week, and we’re still buzzing from the excitement of the 1st Annual Reckless Rodeo! Did you know that back in 1952, a US Marine Corps Lieutenant bought a small horse named Reckless for $250 at the Seoul Race Track from a young Korean boy who needed the cash to buy his sister an artificial leg? Little did they know, Reckless would go on to become America's greatest war horse, serving with valor and distinction during the Korean War. Her bravery and loyalty inspire us to this day!

🤠 Saddle up for the thrill of the 1st Annual Reckless Rodeo! 🏇🏆 Ten teams of Marines and Sailors from CLR-1 faced off in a showdown of strength and skill. NCOs led their teams with an arduous resupply run up Engineer Hill to the intensity of Pugil Sticks, Tactical Combat Casualty Care with 9-Line CASEVACs, and the precision of M240 disassembly and reassembly – it was a true test of grit and camaraderie. The climax? A tug-of-war that had everyone on the edge of their flaks! 🌟 The winning team will be codified in the trophy representing SSgt Reckless, CLR-1’s callsign namesake. Hats off to the warriors of the “RECKLESS” Regiment for a day filled with fierce competition and unforgettable moments. 🤘 Stay tuned for more photos next week!
