Today, we joined the Oceanside community to celebrate the life and legacy of former Mayor and retired Oceanside Police Officer James “Jim” Wood.

Jim dedicated more than four decades to serving Oceanside first as a police officer, then as a Councilmember and Mayor. It Jim’s humor, friendship, dedication to public safety, and love for Oceanside will never be forgotten.

Rest in peace, Jim. Your legacy will always be part of Oceanside. 💙

Our SROs are more than a familiar face on campus, they’re here to help keep our schools safe, build positive relationships with students, and be a trusted resource for our school communities.

Downtown Oceanside is a place to live, work, visit, and enjoy. We’re stepping up enforcement to help keep it safe and welcoming for everyone.

In response to ongoing community complaints, the Oceanside Police Department is increasing traffic enforcement in the downtown area, with a focus on driving behaviors that impact both safety and quality of life. Officers will be paying particular attention to things like running stop signs, amplified music, e bikes, speeding, loud and modified exhausts and more.

Please do your part: slow down, obey traffic signs, and drive/ride responsibly.

Dean is considered AT RISK due to dementia and a language disability.

DESCRIPTION:
• Black hat
• Dark jacket
• Gray pants
• Possibly navy-colored shoes
• Walks very slowly and uses a cane

LAST SEEN:
Nevada St at approximately 2:13 AM

Dean does not have access to a vehicle and does not use public transportation, so he may still be traveling on foot.

If you see Dean call 9-1-1 immediately.

Larissa Manriquez age 13 is missing and considered at risk.

She was last seen leaving her house today an hour ago on Magnolia Road wearing purple shirt, blue jeans, carrying multiple bags/backpacks and a gray sweater (as seen in photo).

If you have seen Larissa or have any information about her whereabouts, please call 911 immediately.

SR-76 eastbound is closed from Guajome Lake Rd. to Melrose Dr. due to a fatal hit-and-run traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes while investigators process the scene.

Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
