Update: Lockdown Drill is complete and normal activities have resumed.

ALL Irwin County Schools are currently conducting a lockdown drill as part of our ongoing school safety procedures.

This is only a drill. There is NO threat or danger to our students or staff.

This drill includes participation from local law enforcement and EMS personnel.

We appreciate your cooperation as we practice our emergency procedures to help ensure the safety of our school community.

Irwin County Elementary School will celebrate Shaved Ice Day on August 28, and students will be able to purchase a cold treat for $5.00. Shaved ice will be great on a hot day, and the proceeds help support the school's PBIS program.

At ICES, we kicked off the school year with our PLC Kickoff, where teachers participated in team-building activities to build a strong foundation for the year. Through these experiences, teachers learned that in a PLC, we may not always have the same ideas or approaches. What matters is that we communicate, use evidence, learn from one another, adjust when something isn’t working, and remain focused on our shared goals for student success.

ICES Yearbook Fundraiser Information:
1. IC Beach Towels and Rally Towels - Order forms are being sent home. The deadline to order is September 3. Only those that order a towel will receive one. NO EXTRAS will be ordered.

2. IC Blanket Raffle - $1.00 raffle tickets will be sold beginning on Monday. Mrs. Benson will have raffle tickets in the morning by the snack cart. Drawing will be held on the morning of September 25th.

The Irwin County Health Department is once again offering influenza vaccinations for students at school. If you would like your child vaccinated, consent forms must be completed and returned to the school or health department by August 21, 2026.
