WANTED MAN LOCATED IN IRWINVILLE — EXTRA CHARGES INCLUDED

Agents with the South Central Drug Task Force located and arrested an Irwin County male in Irwinville, Georgia, who was wanted out of Tift County on outstanding charges.

During the arrest, agents recovered suspected m**hamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The suspect was additionally charged for the items discovered during the encounter.

Unfortunately for him, being wanted was only part of the problem. Carrying m**h during your arrest tends to make the day significantly worse.

SCDTF will continue working with our partner agencies to target illegal narcotics activity and keep dangerous drugs off our streets.

🕵🏼Follow the Trail, Find the Source🕵🏻‍♂️

The South Central Drug Task Force and Fitzgerald Police Department continued applying pressure to local drug activity today following another successful search warrant ex*****on inside the City of Fitzgerald, Georgia.

During the operation, investigators located approximately 9 grams of m**hamphetamine inside the residence, along with additional evidence tied to the ongoing narcotics investigation.

This search warrant was not random. It stemmed directly from intelligence and evidence gathered during last night’s SCDTF investigation and search warrant operation in Irwin County. As investigators began pulling apart the case piece by piece, the trail quickly led detectives and agents straight to a suspected m**hamphetamine supplier operating out of Fitzgerald.

That is how real narcotics investigations work. One arrest leads to another. One search warrant leads to another. Criminals talk, evidence tells stories, and eventually the dots connect themselves.

This case is another example of what can happen when agencies work together instead of worrying about patches, titles, or jurisdiction lines. Fitzgerald PD and SCDTF investigators worked side-by-side to continue pushing this case forward and disrupting the flow of m**hamphetamine into our communities.

Methamphetamine continues to destroy families, fuel thefts, violence, addiction, and other criminal activity throughout South Georgia. Operations like this are designed to target not just users, but the people supplying poison into our neighborhoods for profit.

The South Central Drug Task Force would like to thank the Fitzgerald Police Department, Irwin County Sheriff’s Office, patrol deputies, detectives, and all assisting personnel involved in this investigation.

Today’s reminder: if your operation depends on everyone staying quiet forever, it probably isn’t a great operation.

🚨 🧊 One Bad Throw Leads To Bigger Problems in Irwin County 🧊 🚨

Yesterday afternoon, deputies with the Irwin County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Ten Mile Road and Carter Road after observing a vehicle fail to maintain its lane of travel. The driver was also found to be operating the vehicle with a suspended license.

During the stop, deputies observed the front seat passenger attempt to throw a white object from the vehicle into the roadside ditch in an effort to avoid detection. Unfortunately for him, both patrol deputies and agents with the South Central Drug Task Force were paying close attention.

Agents immediately recovered the discarded item, which was found to contain approximately 14 grams of suspected m**hamphetamine. The passenger was taken into custody on scene and transported for further processing.

Following the arrest and roadside investigation, agents with the South Central Drug Task Force obtained and executed a search warrant for the suspect’s residence. During the ex*****on of the search warrant, additional evidence and valuable investigative intelligence were gathered related to ongoing narcotics activity. The investigation remains active at this time.

This incident is another example of proactive patrol work and strong teamwork between road deputies and task force agents. Small observations during a routine traffic stop quickly turned into a felony narcotics arrest, a search warrant, and the collection of additional evidence tied to illegal drug activity in our community.

The South Central Drug Task Force would also like to commend the alert actions of patrol deputies who recognized suspicious behavior immediately instead of treating the incident as “just another traffic stop.”

⛽️Traffic Stop Leads to Nearly a Pound Seized in Irwin County 🌲

Yesterday afternoon, a Georgia State Patrol Trooper from Post 36 conducted a traffic stop on County Line Road in Irwin County. During the stop, the trooper detected the odor of ma*****na coming from the vehicle, which led to a probable cause search.

That search resulted in the discovery of approximately 13 ounces of ma*****na.

The South Central Drug Task Force was requested to assist with the investigation and take custody of the evidence. The case remains under active investigation.

We understand the current climate and opinions surrounding ma*****na. That said—Georgia law hasn’t changed. Nearly a pound of ma*****na packaged inside a vehicle isn’t som**hing that gets overlooked, and it’s not consistent with personal use.

Strong work by Georgia State Patrol for staying proactive and paying attention to the details that matter.

As always, if you choose to break the law—don’t make it obvious.

🚨Transparency for All—Not Just Law Enforcement🚨

Following a review of a recent arrest, we want to address a growing concern we’re seeing during active law enforcement scenes.

When officers are conducting lawful arrests, their priority is safety, control, and bringing the situation to a close without anyone getting hurt. Crowding a scene, yelling, or trying to inject yourself into that moment does the opposite—it creates risk and distracts from the job at hand.

Everyone has the right to an opinion. No one has the right to interfere.

That expectation applies across the board—including to those elected or appointed to serve the public. Leadership isn’t about who can be the loudest in a tense moment. It’s about setting the standard, not lowering it.

Our officers are expected to remain calm and professional, even when they’re being cursed at or challenged in real time—and they do. That same level of restraint and respect should not be too much to ask in return.

If there are concerns about how som**hing was handled, there are proper channels to address them. An active arrest scene isn’t one of them.

Professionalism shouldn’t be one-sided. Let officers do their job.

🚓You Can’t Toss Evidence and Call It a Plan🚓

Earlier this afternoon, deputies with the Irwin County Sheriff's Office Road Patrol conducted a traffic stop on a Mercury Grand Marquis after confirming the registered owner had an active misdemeanor warrant for their arrest.

During the investigation, the driver attempted to discard ecstasy tablets and ma*****na underneath the vehicle in an effort to avoid detection—however, the attempt was unsuccessful.

A continued search of the vehicle led to the discovery of illicit oxycodone pills and more ma*****na. The driver was taken into custody on the outstanding warrant along with additional charges related to the controlled substances.

The South Central Drug Task Force commends the sharp attention to detail shown by road patrol deputies. Traffic stops are more than just routine—they are often the first line of defense in uncovering criminal activity that directly impacts our communities.

Golden rule for the weekend: “Don’t commit felonies when you’re committing misdemeanors.”

🚓Serious Cases. Serious Response🚓

Earlier today, the South Central Drug Task Force, alongside the Ben Hill County Sheriff's Office, Fitzgerald Police Department, Ocilla Police Department and Irwin County Sheriff's Office, executed a search warrant in Ben Hill County related to the recent murder in Ocilla, Georgia.

The individual connected to the investigation was taken into custody without incident.

This operation is a clear example of agencies choosing to lead from the front—stepping up when it matters most, not sitting on the sidelines. When the right people come together with a shared mission, results follow.

And for those thinking county lines create distance—accountability travels just as well.

One team. One mission. Safer communities.

🚨 Wanted Subject Located — Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest 🚨

Earlier today, deputies with the Irwin County Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol conducted a traffic stop on a red Toyota Tundra after confirming the driver was wanted out of Ben Hill County.

The driver was taken into custody without incident. During a search incident to arrest, deputies discovered m**hamphetamine in the driver’s possession. Agents with the South Central Drug Task Force responded and are assisting with the investigation and additional charges.

This incident is another example of how proactive law enforcement and routine patrol work continue to remove wanted individuals and dangerous narcotics from our communities. What started as a targeted stop for a wanted subject quickly turned into a drug arrest—reinforcing that those involved in criminal activity often carry more than just a warrant.

Outstanding work by Irwin County Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol for staying vigilant and taking action.

At the end of the day, it’s simple—if you’re wanted and choosing to carry illegal drugs, you’re only adding to your problems. Our agencies will continue working together to ensure those who bring drugs into our communities are held accountable.

🧊 No Kilo, No Staccato… Still Illegal, Still Handled 🧊

On April 1, 2026, Agents with the South Central Drug Task Force (SCDTF) were conducting a low-level investigation into suspected drug activity within Irwin County. During the course of the investigation, agents conducted a traffic stop on a targeted female.

As a result of the stop, agents discovered approximately 4 grams of m**hamphetamine, along with a digital scale and clear plastic baggies commonly associated with the distribution of illegal narcotics. A Hi-Point .9mm was also recovered during the encounter.

While some may view this as a “small” case, this is exactly how drug problems take root in rural communities. Low-level dealers are often the front line of distribution—bringing poison directly into neighborhoods, homes, and around families. Addressing these cases early prevents larger networks from growing and spreading further into our communities.

South Central Drug Task Force remains committed to addressing drug activity at every level. Whether large-scale trafficking operations or street-level distribution, each case matters when it comes to protecting Irwin County.

As always, if you see som**hing, say som**hing. We are listening.
