Our training never stops.

Our officers regularly take part in hands-on training throughout the year to stay prepared for any situation they may face while serving our community. Recently, officers sharpened their lifesaving skills by practicing tourniquet application and participated in defensive tactics training focused on control, movement, and officer safety.

We are continuing increased seat belt enforcement as part of the national “Click It or Ticket” campaign.

In 2023, nearly half of all passenger vehicle occupants killed in crashes nationwide were not wearing a seat belt. more than 10,000 lives lost.

Seat belts save lives and take only seconds to use.
Front seat. Back seat. Every seat, buckle up.

Summer break is almost here, and some Ocoee Middle School students are ready to ride safely all summer long.

The Ocoee Police Department joined students, staff, and community partners at Ocoee Middle School for National Bike to School Day. This event, coordinated with Children's Safety Village and Orlando Health, focused on teaching students the importance of bicycle safety, helmet use, and traffic awareness.

Students received free bike helmets to help keep them safe on every ride.

CAR BURGLARY PREVENTION

We’ve seen an increase in vehicle burglaries recently, especially involving valuables left inside cars overnight or for long periods of time. In some cases, vehicles were even left unlocked.

THERE IS NO GOOD PLACE TO LEAVE VALUABLES IN YOUR VEHICLE

Not under the seat.
Not in the center console.
Not in the glove box.
Not in the back seat.

Take it with you every time.

-Lock your vehicle
-Remove valuables
-Park in well-lit areas
-Report suspicious activity immediately

On this Memorial Day, the Ocoee Police Department joins our community in remembrance of the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

As President Harry S. Truman once said: “Our debt to the heroic men and valiant women in the service of our country can never be repaid. They have earned our undying gratitude.”

Today, we remember the courage, sacrifice and legacy of those who gave everything in service to the United States.

MOVE OVER FOR EMERGENCY VEHICLES

Recently, we’ve seen too many drivers fail to move over or stop for emergency vehicles responding to calls.
When you see flashing lights and hear sirens behind you, every second matters.

If an emergency vehicle is approaching with its lights and sirens activated:
🚓 Safely pull to the right
🛑 Stop and wait for it to pass
🚫 Do not block intersections

Whether it’s police, fire, or EMS personnel responding to an emergency, getting out of the way could help save a life.
