Nothing beats cookies, milk, and time spent with the kids in our community in the summer.

Chief Ogburn and our officers had a great time at the first Cookies & Milk With A Cop event of the summer at the Orange County Library System (FL) West Oaks Branch. We love opportunities like these to connect with families and build positive relationships with the next generation.

109 MPH. In a 45 MPH Zone. With a Child in the Back Seat.

Ocoee Police officers stopped a driver who was driving 109 mph in a 45 mph zone at night with a young child in a car seat in the back seat. The driver was arrested and charged under Florida's Super Speeder Law, with Street Racing, and Child Endangerment.

Our officers will continue to aggressively enforce dangerous driving violations to help keep our roads safe.

Busted: Ocoee's Snipe Signs

They're attached to poles, stuck in the ground, and all along roadways across the city. They're called "snipe signs," and they're not supposed to be there.

This summer, while school is out, our School Resource Officers are helping clean up Ocoee by removing these unauthorized advertisements from public rights-of-way throughout the city.

Every weekday morning for an hour, our SROs are out collecting these signs to help keep Ocoee looking its best.

Have you heard of "Bank Jugging?"

Bank jugging is a crime trend where suspects watch customers at banks or ATMs who may be carrying cash, and then follow them to another location to steal the money.

These crimes often occur when money, purses, wallets, or other valuables are left inside vehicles while the victim makes a stop after leaving the bank.

Protect yourself by:

• Staying aware of your surroundings.
• Concealing cash immediately after a withdrawal.
• Avoiding unnecessary stops when carrying large amounts of money.
• Never leaving cash or valuables visible in your vehicle.
• Calling 911 if you believe someone is following you.

Congratulations to our explorers for graduating from the Central Florida Law Enforcement Explorer Academy.
Throughout the week, they received hands-on training while developing leadership, discipline, and professionalism.
One of our female Explorers was recognized as the Top Physical Fitness Performer in her phase, and another earned 2nd Place in Tactical Skills while competing against Explorers from agencies across Central Florida.

These awards reflect the hard work, dedication, and commitment our Explorers demonstrated throughout the academy.
