Safe Kids Oconto County is having a car seat check up event at Encompass Daycare on Wednesday, September 23 from 3-5 pm.
Help your child ride as safely as possible.
There will be installations and checks by Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians and answers to your car seat and booster seat questions.
You can learn tips and tricks to help with installation of your child’s seat.

The Machickanee Players Presents The 2026 Art, Poetry & Short Story Contest! A celebration of imagination for Oconto County creators ages 11 to 111. 🎨

Registration is due by September 15th. You must drop off your project by October 3rd. Public Display is October 3rd to 24th at the Oconto Falls Library and Farnsworth Library in Oconto.

Submissions accepted include Art (painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media), Poetry (any style, original work) and Short Story (1,000 - 3,000 words, original work).

We had so much fun meeting Clara the Whale on Friday! Big thank-yous to Dave, Chris, and all the staff members and community organizers who made the event possible! 🐳😄

Another SEWING CLASS opportunity is here! Sign-up lists for September and October classes are officially OPEN! 😁🧵
September's project is a six pocket tote. Classes are Saturday, September 12th from 9:15 to noon or Monday, September 14th from 12:30 to 3:00 PM.
October's project is two section wallet. Classes are Saturday, October 3rd, 9:15 to noon or Monday October 5th from 12:30 to 3:00 pm.

FRIENDLY REMINDERS: sewing classes are EXTREMELY POPULAR and spots are limited. Each class takes 6 students, 7 if one person can provide their own sewing machine. When signing up, you may only sign up yourself: you may not also sign up friends or family members (exception: parents attending with their underage child). Thank you for your understanding!
