As a reminder, OFMU will begin Spring Sewer Cleaning on Monday, June 1st, and work will continue until the project is complete. Root cutting and sewer cleaning will be performed throughout the scheduled areas.
Routine sewer cleaning is an important part of maintaining the wastewater system. Cleaning helps remove debris, grease, roots, and other buildup that can restrict flow and lead to sewer backups or service interruptions. Regular maintenance also helps extend the life of the sewer system and improve reliability for customers.
Residents can view the scheduled cleaning map here:

During sewer cleaning, air pressure can occasionally build up in sewer lines. In some cases, this may cause water to bubble in toilets or floor drains, or rarely cause backups in basement drains. To help prevent issues, residents are encouraged to:
• Keep toilet lids closed when possible
• Ensure basement floor drains are clear
• Pour water into infrequently used drains to maintain the water trap seal
If a sewer backup or other issue occurs during cleaning operations, please contact OFMU immediately at (920) 846-4507.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we complete this important maintenance to help keep the sewer system operating properly and reliably.
