A Tornado Warning is in effect for Northern Oconto County until 10:30 AM CDT.Current Emergency SituationThe Threat: At 9:44 AM CDT, radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado near Woodlawn (8 miles south of Crandon), tracking southeast at 45 mph.Hazards: Tornado potential and quarter-size hail.

Impacted Areas: The storm trajectory places the threat near Townsend, Lakewood, Carter, Choate, Freeman, and the Boot Lake Campground.Immediate Action RequiredTake Shelter: Move immediately to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building.Avoid Windows: Stay completely away from glass windows and exterior walls.Mobile Homes/Vehicles: If you are in a mobile home or vehicle, evacuate to the closest permanent, substantial shelter immediately to protect yourself from flying debris.

Severe Weather:

Good afternoon, as we continue to manage the heat and humidity with heat indicies into the 90s today, there is a chance of multiple rounds of thunderstorms in the next 48 hours.

More heat and humidity are expected tomorrow for tomorrow which will create unstable conditiions that could produce severe weather. At this time there is low confidence in storm timing and coverage due to competing atmospheric factors. Stroms may be brief but severe depending on location.

Good morning,

One or two rounds of strong to severe thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and evening, mainly between 1 and 10PM with the greatest threat between 3 and 8PM. While not every location will see a severe storm the threat is area wide today so please be mindful. The smoke has cleared out this morning, but the air quality is still listed as poor.

Well, from one extreme to the next. We get some slight relfief from the extreme temps, but the air quality is very poor today. If possible, limit your time outdoors.

Good morning,

Get ready for some hot weather. The heat will peak Monday and Tuesday with highs in the 90s to around 100F. The humidity will also factor in and bring the heat index values to around 95 - 105F both days. This intense heat may cause heat related impacts beginning Monday and continuing into Wednesday. There is also a chance of severe weather across northern Wisconsin this afternoon with strong and damaging winds.

There will be an updated list of cooling shelters county wide provided tomorrow morning.
