Oconto Police Department

This evening, Donna Schroeder, along with her husband and family, presented checks and a huge amount of thanks to Oconto Police Department, Oconto Fire and Rescue Department, along with other fire departments and local businesses, for the help given during the tragic fire her daughter Katherine DeCoursin, and three children Jeri, Dalton, and Nicholas, lost their lives in. There is also money set aside to be used for scholarships. They will be given away in the years the children would’ve been graduating, 2023, 24 and 26. It was an emotional presentation. Thank you so much Donna and family! The members of both departments commit their lives to helping others and every one is honored to do so.

Late night work at the fire station. The batteries on Engine 2 (E1512) could no longer hold a charge or start the truck. This caused the onboard battery maintainer to burn out. The mounting hardware holding the batteries in had to be cut off to get the batteries out due to rust. Repairs at a fire department are never ending. We are thankful for the dedicated team of firefighters that help make these repairs and keep our fleet running.
