Ocracoke Volunteer Fire Department The Ocracoke Volunteer Fire Department provides service for a small island community of approximately 800 permanent residents.

During the annual vacation season the island population can swell to 10,000 visitors on a daily basis. Our members consist of devoted individuals from diverse backgrounds. Some are employed by the NC Department of Transportation Ferry Service while others are charter & commercial fishermen, EMTs, former educators, home builders, motel owners and tourist industry workers.

THANK YOU for your support with another memorable Firemen's Ball!! Our biggest Firemen's Ball to date! The generosity of your sponsorships, auction donations, amazing music, delicious food, and other contributions cannot be beat! After expenses, approximately $200,000 was raised for Ocracoke Volunteer Fire Department! These funds helped pay for the 105ft aerial truck you saw at the Ball as well as going towards updating equipment, tools, gear, and training, to help us do our best for our community. We are so grateful to you all! We can't do this without you! 🚒❤️🎉

We are so excited that we have a 2004 Rosenbauer HME 105 foot aerial truck replacing our 1995 50 ft Quint Aerial Ladder truck (which is for sale)!
Everyone is excited to check it out and work on getting her in service!
