📢 PUBLIC NOTICE — COMMUNITY DISCUSSION
The Bad River community is invited to a public discussion regarding the proposed separation of the Tribal Chairperson and Executive Director roles.

The discussion will focus on whether a separate professional Executive Director/Chief Administrative Officer should oversee the day-to-day administration of Tribal Government, while the elected Tribal Chairperson focuses on governmental leadership, Tribal Council responsibilities, sovereignty, community representation, and government-to-government relationships.

📍 Bad River Casino Convention Center

This proposal would not eliminate the Chairperson or diminish the membership’s right to elect Tribal Leadership. The Executive Director would not be an elected Tribal leader and would not replace the authority of the Tribal Council.

Community participation and input are important. We encourage Tribal members to attend, learn more about the proposal, and share their thoughts.

We hope you join the Tribe's Lake Superior Day celebration event today 9/4/26 from 11 am - 3 pm at Waverly! Please refer to the attached flyer for more information about this event. 4 hours of admin leave approved for employees to attend.

The Tribe's celebration event is one of the many Lake Superior Day events occurring within the Lake Superior basin. Lake Superior Day was started in the early 1990s to highlight the importance of this great water body to the basin's environment and economy, and Lake Superior Day is officially the third Sunday of July. The Bad River Tribal Council passed a resolution in 2004 approving the declaration and celebration of Lake Superior Day "to honor and celebrate our Great Lake Superior, the giver of live for our people."
