Adventures from the farm today. Took all the turkey out for the first time today. Lurkey, the bigger turkey, has been the only one out before today. Even though Lurkey is bigger, he is still in the brooder box and plays daddy to all the other baby turkey, chickens, duck and guinea we have in the box. He did not move out to the outdoor grow out pen with the geese because they are ornery and like to pull feathers and we donā€™t like Lurkey bald.
Observationsā€¦
1. Geese love babies no matter what kind of bird.
2. Baby geese are interested in other babies but want to touch them (i.e. grab them with their mouths; that is how they feel).
3. Lurkey looks after his little crew and finds bugs for them and corrals them.
4. The cats like to sit back watch over all the birds.
5. The ducks will follow the bigger birds they are raised with.
6. Ducks arenā€™t as bad as I thought. Actually, they are so stinkinā€™ adorable!
7. My guinea raised with my big geese like to come over and watch the littles also.
