What to Know About Our Voting Equipment
The Ector County Elections Office is committed to maintaining secure, accurate, and accessible voting equipment that meets all applicable federal and Texas certification requirements.
Our voting systems incorporate multiple layers of security designed to protect the integrity and confidentiality of election data. These systems utilize advanced encryption, secure boot processes, authenticated firmware updates, and safeguards that help detect and prevent unauthorized access or tampering.
To promote accuracy and transparency, our voting equipment provides each voter with a voter-verifiable paper record before their ballot is cast. This allows voters to review and confirm their selections prior to finalizing their vote.
Accessibility remains a top priority. Our voting equipment supports multiple languages and offers both visual and audio ballot options. Features such as adjustable text size, high-contrast displays, tactile controls, and audio assistance help ensure that every eligible voter can cast their ballot independently and confidently.
The Ector County Elections Office has completed routine preventive maintenance, thorough cleaning, and all required software and firmware updates on our voting equipment. All equipment is now operating on the most current version certified for use in the State of Texas and is fully prepared for upcoming elections.
We remain committed to conducting elections that are secure, transparent, accurate, and accessible for every voter in Ector County.

Rain, severe thunderstorms, and flooding tried to stand in the way, but the Ector County Election team stood even stronger! Thanks to the incredible dedication of our election workers and poll workers, polling locations opened on time and voters are being welcomed with professionalism and care. Today is a reminder that democracy works because of the hardworking people behind it!🗳️📣🇱🇷
