Today we remember the lives lost, the survivors, and the entire Odessa community as we mark seven years since the tragic events of August 31, 2019. The heartache of that day remains etched in our city's history, but so does the profound strength, resilience, and unity of our people.

To honor those we lost and support everyone affected, we encourage community members to visit the Bright Star Memorial on UTPB - The University of Texas Permian Basin campus. Designed by sculptor Jim Sanborn, this powerful monument features the names of those taken from us alongside heartfelt messages from loved ones and survivors.

Take a moment today to reflect, pay your respects, and keep the families and victims in your thoughts. We remember them. 💛

Amara Crepes & Gelato is now open in Odessa, TX!

The Odessa Chamber Ambassadors enjoyed celebrating this family-owned specialty store that is expanding due to popular demand. And we are delighted that they chose to expand into Odessa, Texas!

The glorious smell of a freshly prepared waffle cone (or waffle bowl) will welcome you as you first enter. And it even gets better from there!

Odessa’s hotels are really investing in the area! The most recent is a complete renovation of the Hampton Inn by Hilton, located on J.B.S. Parkway across from UTPB.

Odessa Chamber Ambassadors and staff enjoyed celebrating Hampton Inn with a ribbon cutting. Then we were able to tour the gorgeous and very spacious rooms. There are 72 total rooms … we did not tour all of them. 😁

Whether you are booking guests for business, family, friends, or even a “staycation”, you’re going to love the look and feel of the hotel. And best of all, you’ll feel like an honored guest with the kind, helpful, friendly hotel staff!

If you have not been to the Salvation Army Thrift Store, or haven’t visited in a while, go check it out! They have renovated and it looks fantastic!

The Odessa Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors, Mayor Cal Hendricks, and Odessa Chamber staff had the pleasure of celebrating this completed renovation with the Salvation Army leaders and Thrift Store staff this morning.

A very important message that we hope you will all share with your West Texas friends is …

Whether you are donating or shopping, your efforts are going directly to care for people in Odessa, TX. (Money raised from store sales goes to the operation of the Salvation Army Shelter.)

The Salvation Army Thrift Store is located at 505 W. 42nd St. Hope you are able to shop and/or donate soon!
