Today is National SAFE Day. ❤️

Keeping children safe starts at home and in every place they visit. A simple conversation and safe choices can save lives.

S.A.F.E. means:

🔒 Secure all fi****ms in the home.
❓ Ask about unsecured fi****ms in the homes your child visits.
🗣️ Frequently talk to your children about the dangers of fi****ms.
📚 Educate others to be safe.

Prevention begins with awareness, action, and community responsibility. Let’s work together to protect our children and create safer spaces for every family.

A Message to Youth Today 💛

When I say youth, I mean every young person age 24 and younger — because no matter where you are in your journey, you are still growing, becoming, and finding your way.

I want you to hear this today:

You are going to change the world.

Not someday when you have everything figured out.
Not only when you graduate, get the job, or reach your goals.
You are making a difference right now — through your voice, your choices, your kindness, your courage, and your story.

The world needs your ideas.
Your heart matters.
Your dreams matter.
Your life has purpose.

There may be days when you feel overlooked, unsure, or like your struggles are bigger than your future. But please keep going. Your story is still being written, and there is so much greatness ahead of you.

To every young person reading this:
I believe in you. I see your potential. And I know you are going to change the world. 🌎✨

💛 CALLING ALL COMMUNITY CHAMPIONS! 💛

Help us lift up our youth one PUSH UP at a time! 💪

Starting this June, Impact Youth will be sharing daily PUSH UPS—uplifting messages, positive encouragement, prevention reminders, and real moments of support from people across our community.

Because sometimes the moments that matter most are the ones that go unnoticed.

A teacher encouraging a student.
A coach believing in a player.
A parent listening without judgment.
A mentor showing up.
A young person making a healthy choice.
A community member reminding youth that they matter.

Now we want to hear from YOU!

📸 Send us your PUSH UP:
• A short blurb or encouraging message for youth
• A photo of yourself, your team, organization, classroom, church group, or community effort
• A positive reminder of how you are helping lift up young people in the Permian Basin

📧 Email your submission to: [email protected]

Selected PUSH UPS will be featured daily on our social media throughout June as we come together to encourage, support, and empower our youth.

Let’s fill June with kindness, hope, prevention, and reminders that our young people are seen, valued, and never alone. 💛

Send in your PUSH UP today!

🌟 Impact Youth is out in the community representing Basin Lighthouse! 🌟

Today, our team is honored to be at Hope for the Homeless, connecting with individuals and families while providing helpful resources and support items.

At Basin Lighthouse, we believe prevention is more than education—it is showing up, building connections, and helping meet the needs of our community with compassion and care. 💙

Thank you to the organizers, volunteers, and community partners who made today possible. Together, we are leading the way through education, kindness, and service.

World No To***co Day is marked annually on 31 May – bringing together governments, health organizations, civil society and youth from around the world to raise awareness of the threats of to***co use and the tactics used by the to***co industry, and to promote effective measures to end ni****ne and to***co addiction.

Building on momentum
Building on the momentum of the 2025 campaign, World No To***co Day 2026 reaffirms WHO’s commitment to exposing the evolving strategies of the to***co and ni****ne industry and to advancing policies that protect young people and communities from addiction.

The 2026 campaign aims to:

expose the industry’s strategies – including the use of synthetic ni****ne, ni****ne salts and analogues designed to enhance addiction potential while being marketed as innovative or even less harmful;
promote stronger policy action – through bans on flavours, advertising and promotion (including digital and social media), and through stricter regulation of packaging and product design that increase youth appeal; and
empower youth and the public – by providing knowledge and tools to recognize and resist industry influence and by ensuring access to evidence-based cessation support.

Graduation weekend is a time to celebrate — but it is also a reminder of why prevention, awareness, and community partnership matter.

This past weekend, a joint operation was held with the Odessa Police Department, Ector County Sheriff’s Office, and Ector County ISD Police Department. These agencies responded to dozens of calls for service, which resulted in:

• 24 citations for Minor in Consumption of an Alcoholic Beverage
• 1 arrest for Reckless Driving
• 5 arrests for Public Intoxication
• 2 arrests for Criminal Trespassing
• 3 arrests for Evading
• 3 arrests for Possession of a Controlled Substance
• 1 arrest for False Identification
• 1 arrest for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol by a Minor
• 1 warrant arrest

We are thankful to report that there were no fatal crashes and no alcohol-related deaths during graduation weekend.

At Basin Lighthouse, this is why prevention matters. Safe celebrations do not happen by accident — they happen when families, schools, law enforcement, youth-serving organizations, and the community work together.

Thank you to Odessa Police Department, Ector County Sheriff’s Office, ECISD Police Department, Odessa Crime Stoppers, and the public for helping support a safer graduation weekend.

Let’s keep showing up, speaking up, and working together to protect our youth and build a safer Permian Basin.

☀️🎉 SCHOOL’S OUT… SUMMER IS IN! 🎉☀️
Parents… TAG, you’re it! 💛
Summer break is officially here, and while the schedules may slow down, our role as parents, guardians, mentors, and community leaders never takes a vacation.
This summer, let’s work together to:
🌟 Keep our youth safe
🌟 Encourage healthy choices
🌟 Create fun, positive memories
🌟 Stay connected and involved
🌟 Talk openly about peer pressure, va**ng, alcohol, and drugs

The Permian Basin’s greatest strength is our community — and our kids are watching us lead the way. 💙
Whether it’s family cookouts, late-night talks, summer camps, sports, fishing trips, movie nights, or just checking in… those moments matter more than you know.
💬 Prevention starts at home.
💬 Connection is protection.
💬 One conversation can make a difference.

Wishing every family a safe, fun, and unforgettable summer break! ☀️🕶️🌴
