We’re excited to welcome Crystal Narr, Executive Director of the Missouri Chamber Federation, to our September Chamber Meeting!

Crystal will share about the resources and advocacy available through the Missouri Chamber Federation, along with legislative priorities heading into the 2027 session and trends that may be important for Missouri businesses to have on their radar.

One of the benefits she’ll be highlighting is the Missouri Chamber Benefit Plan, including upcoming changes and how this group health benefit option can benefit Missouri businesses and their employees.

For this meeting, we’re opening our doors to non-members so local businesses can learn more about the benefits, resources and connections available through our partnership with the Missouri Chamber so help us spread the word!

Every year at Christmas time, we hear people say Odessa feels like it should be in a Hallmark movie. Well, here's our chance to make that a reality!

Hallmark is turning 25 this year, and to celebrate, they're looking for the 25 Merriest Christmas Towns in America. If you're 21 or older, you can nominate Odessa by sharing a few photos and/or a short video, along with a letter about what makes Odessa magical at Christmas time. The winning town gets to serve as a filming location for a future Hallmark original movie, and 25 finalist towns will be named "Official Hallmark Christmas Towns."

An informed community is a stronger community, and several of our Chamber members are helping voters learn more about what’s on the ballot before heading to the polls.

📍 Tonight: Odessa R-VII School District is hosting an Open House at McQuerry Elementary, providing an opportunity to learn more about its ballot measures.

🎙️ Kelsey Legate with Local Living Real Estate– “What’s the Tea in Rural KC” sits down with Lafayette County Retired School Personnel (LCRSP) President John Morgan to discuss the upcoming ballot and what voters need to know.

📍 Tonight: Representative Terry Thompson is hosting an informational meeting in Wellington to share facts about the constitutional amendments and ballot measures. The meeting is open to all Lafayette County residents.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our July luncheon! City Administrator Shawna Camp gave members an update on the state of the City, including exciting news for our small commercial business owners: electric rates are set to drop by 17%; a change our Chamber board began advocating for in May 2025.

We also welcomed new members with a Chamber 101 presentation. Thank you to Lacy Oliphant for presenting, to The Hilltop for hosting us, and to Heartland Pantry for another delicious meal.
