Hi, I just wanted to make this post to our own firemen.

The picnic is a very stressful time for our guys and their families. Some spend a lot of time behind the scenes with tasks that start months before we have the picnic.

Insurance for this and that, contracts with the Carnival, planning for pyrotechnics for fireworks, ordering food and beverages, the raffle notices and gathering, cleaning the park and prepping the kitchen.

Not to mention, the families themselves, volunteer too. They help with cooking, baking, selling soda, working in the kitchen, gathering trash, and still trying to enjoy the Carnival too.

This post is to all of them that gave their all to make this past weekend a success. Thank you firemen & their families! Thank you to they gals that baked for our cake walk, thank you to the community for coming out and spending your hard earned money to support our Volunteer department.

Like I stated previously, each firemen to be outfitted to go in a fire could cost up to $21,000! Every dollar from our picnic goes into repairs of equipment, new equipment, training, and keeping our firemen safe! There are not enough words to thank you all for your support.

Odin Fire Protection District is excited to announce that we will be receiving $18,500 from the Office of State Fire Marshal. This is the small equipment grant, with this grant we will be replacing several items that will ensure that our firefighters are safe. Thanks again for these grant opportunities to help assist firefighters.

Another Firemen’s picnic and another car show / sound off! This is the last year for Curtis Hardy to plan and schedule the event. Curtis has been here for 10 years side by side with us. We can’t thank him enough for everything he has done and for the all the people he has brought with him.
