Hi, I'm Lori Postma,
I've spent 15 years helping bring order to chaos through incident management. I'm a qualified Type 3 Incident Commander, Planning Section Chief, and Liaison Officer. In Indiana, I serve as one of four State Team Leaders/Incident Commanders and sit on the State Qualifications Committee.
I'm proud to serve as the IMTA Vice President, Region 5 Director, and Board Liaison to the Education & Training Committee—an initiative I've been involved with since its inception.
Professionally, I bring 25 years of experience as a registered nurse and currently serve as the Manager of Emergency Management for Franciscan Health Hospitals in Dyer, Hammond, and Munster, Indiana. I've been a Lake Township Fire Department firefighter for over 20 years, including over a decade as the department's Public Information Officer.
At this moment, our profession is facing a time of significant uncertainty. Many of our colleagues have lost their federal positions, and questions about the future are weighing heavily on our community. In moments like this, unity and a collective voice are more important than ever.
That's why I'm proud to be a part of the Incident Management Teams Association (IMTA). IMTA brings us together—offering strength, legitimacy, and a respected voice in conversations with top-level government leaders. It's the kind of influence we simply can't achieve alone.
The more IMT professionals who join, the greater our impact. A growing membership means more vigorous advocacy, increased recognition, and enhanced support for our mission-driven work across the country.
If you're part of an IMT, now is the time to get involved. By joining IMTA, you'll help ensure our voices are heard—and that we continue to protect and serve our communities effectively.
