On behalf of everyone involved with Shop with a Cop, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks for your generous donation made in memory of Ronald Moore.

During such a difficult time, your family chose to honor Ron's life through kindness and generosity, and that gift will bring joy, comfort, and hope to children and families in our community. Your donation will help create special memories for children who may otherwise go without during the holiday season.

Our thoughts are with your family during this time, and we are truly grateful for your generosity.

With sincere appreciation and sympathy,
The Oglesby Police Department

The Oglesby Police Department reports successful Memorial Day ‘Click It or Ticket’ campaign

Oglesby, IL — The Oglesby Police Department today announces the results of its Memorial Day 2026 “Click It or Ticket” enforcement campaign aimed at increasing seat belt use and keeping roads safe during one of the busiest travel periods of the year.

“Thanks to the efforts of our officers, more drivers and passengers were reminded to buckle up, helping to prevent injuries and save lives,” said Deputy Chief Evan Duttlinger. “Every citation and safety check reinforces the message that seat belts work.”

During the campaign, the Oglesby Police Department took the following actions:
• 34 traffic violations.
• 14 seat belt citations issued.
• 3 speed citations issued.
• 1 suspended/revoked license citation issued.
• 2 electronic communication device citations issued.
• 2 other citations issued.

The campaign’s success reflects law enforcement's commitment to roadway safety and reinforces the message that buckling up saves lives.

The “Click It or Ticket” initiative is funded with federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation. For more information on safe driving practices, visit ItsNotaGameIllinois.com.

Zero excuses: ‘Click It or Ticket’ campaign underway for Memorial Day

Oglesby, IL — The Oglesby Police Department is joining law enforcement agencies across Illinois for the 2026 “Click It or Ticket” campaign running May 15-26 during the Memorial Day travel period.

“Buckle up every trip, every time,” said Deputy Chief Evan Duttlinger “Seat belts save lives, and we are committed to keeping our roads safe.”

Officers will conduct high-visibility enforcement day and night, focusing on seat belt violations. Motorists who fail to buckle up can expect to be stopped and ticketed.

Illinois law requires all drivers and passengers to wear seat belts. While usage has increased to 93% in 2025, unrestrained fatalities remain a concern — especially at night.
