A membership organization preserving open space and farmland in southern Maine, along with hiking trails on many of our properties.

Places we've helped to protect include a working farm in Eliot, a proposed industrial site in Wells/North Berwick, an isolated heath in Berwick, a stream corridor through a subdivision in South Berwick, and the last remaining saltwater farm in Ogunquit.

Saving the native Chestnut is one of our passions. We’re lucky enough to have our own seedlings to share! These healthy babies were carefully and lovingly planted at the Berwick Community Garden today. Grow strong, little ones. 🌱

🌿🦋 THANK YOU for making GWRLT's first-ever BioBlitz a tremendous success! 🐸🐦

On Sunday, community scientists, nature enthusiasts, and curious explorers joined us at Savage Wildlife Preserve to discover and document the incredible biodiversity that calls this special place home.

Together, we observed everything from plants and insects to birds, fungi, and other wildlife, contributing valuable data that will help us better understand and protect this conservation area for years to come.

This event reminded us that conservation begins with connection, and there is always more to discover when we take the time to look closely.

We NEVER get sick of this view!

Beach Plum Farm Preserve is one of our 22 conservation areas with a flat, half-mile loop through a meadow with a view of the marshland, the Ogunquit River, dunes, and the ocean. There are benches and picnic tables to enhance your visit. Bring a picnic basket and enjoy the last remaining salt water farm in Ogunquit, now home of meticulously maintained community garden plots. Additionally, it is home to the Office of Great Works Regional Land Trust. These 22 acres and six buildings on Route 1 were conserved in 1998 and made available for everyone, forever.

Special thanks to Brett Cropp and the South Berwick Conservation Commission for an exceptional morning of birding at Orris Falls. We didn’t reach the 50 mark, but we got very close - so many warblers migrating right now!
