Come out and join us from 6PM-9PM on July 3, 2026, as we celebrate the 250th year of our nation’s independence!

Bring the family out for an evening of fun featuring water slides, bounce houses, cotton candy, hotdogs, chips, and drinks all free for attendees.

We will also take time to recognize our veterans, enjoy a night of patriotic music, and cap off the celebration with a fireworks display.

The Ohatchee Grocery truly went above and beyond for us today.

A very heartfelt thank you to Leigh Gardner, Jeff Gardner, Kristi Davis, and Jeff Davis for providing lunch for the officers and staff of the Ohatchee Police Department. From the hot dogs and hamburgers to all the sides, fixings, and desserts, everything was greatly appreciated and enjoyed by everyone.

Your generosity, kindness, and continued support mean more than words can express. Gestures like this remind us how fortunate we are to serve such an incredible community every day. Thank you for all you do for us and for standing behind your local law enforcement officers. We truly appreciate you!

Just to remind everyone of recent poll changes for tomorrow’s Election Day Tuesday May 19, 2026.

* The poll at Ohatchee First Baptist Church in Ohatchee has moved to the Ohatchee Senior Center (behind Town Hall) located at 7805 AL Hwy 77 Ohatchee, 36271.

* The poll at Saks High School has moved to Hillcrest Baptist Church at 5117 Post Oak Rd. (Anniston, not the Post Oak Rd. in Alexandria).

At the Ohatchee Police Department, public safety is more than responding to calls. It’s about building relationships, earning trust, and being present for our community every single day. We do this as a team effort each day, accomplished by every employee working together regardless of the department or job description.

Whether it’s assisting motorists, checking on residents, supporting our schools, supporting youth sports, responding to emergencies, or simply waving at a child who loves police cars, we are proud to serve the Town of Ohatchee.

We would also like to thank the citizens of Ohatchee for your continued support, encouragement, and prayers. Your support means more than you know and helps motivate us to continue working hard for this community each day.

Together, we continue making Ohatchee a safer and stronger community for everyone.

Ohatchee Homemades truly made our day with the thoughtful surprise they brought by today in support of the Ohatchee Police Department.

The homemade ranch party mix, chocolate chip cookies, M&M chocolate chip cookies, and chewy brownie cookies were an absolute hit with everyone here at the department! Gestures like this mean more than words can express and remind us how blessed we are to serve such a caring and supportive community.

The Ohatchee Police Department would like to extend a special thank you to Leigh Gardner and Leigh’s Treats for the thoughtful surprise delivery of homemade sourdough bread.

Small acts of kindness like this mean a great deal and are truly appreciated by our officers and staff. We are thankful for the continued support from our community and for people like Leigh who always go the extra mile to show appreciation for local first responders.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Appreciation Foundation 2026 Officer of the Year for the Ohatchee Police Department is Officer Dalton Gilbert.

We are proud to have Officer Gilbert as a member of our team and are honored to recognize him as our 2026 Officer of the Year. His dedication, professionalism, and commitment to serving the citizens of Ohatchee reflect the highest standards of law enforcement and represent our department exceptionally well.

The Ohatchee Police Department would like to sincerely thank everyone who helped make it possible for our agency to receive four (4) Preliminary Breath Test (PBT) units through funding available through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and administered in Alabama through the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA).
Clint Harrell, Director of the Regional Highway Traffic Safety Office at Central Alabama Community College, did an outstanding job coordinating the process and assisting with pickup and logistics.

These new PBT devices will allow our department to place this important equipment directly into the hands of officers, to assist in identifying impaired drivers and improve roadway safety throughout our community.
