The Downtown Business District Resurfacing Project in the Village of Chagrin Falls is anticipated to begin on or about Monday, March 16, 2026 and is scheduled to be completed on or about June 26, 2026. The following are the elements of this project and the impact to the business district.

I wrote up my thoughts on the future of North Main Street. If you were looking for more details on what a conversion to three lanes could entail, the benefits of doing so, and some predictions about the impact on traffic in the village, please give it a look and let me know what you think.

This article in today’s Chagrin Valley Times is a good summary of our discussion at council, but if you only read the headline it makes it sound like councilman Corkran’s concern is slow traffic when in fact he was calling attention to the opposite problem. Volume is up but so are vehicle speeds, while traffic signals are ignored.

“‘Going right on East Washington is terrible,‘ Mr. Corkran said. He said half the drivers don’t go off the accelerator.”

“‘If you have to make that gridlock and ticket, fine,” Mr. Corkran said to Chief Dacek. ‘Someone is going to get killed there.’”

I talk to so many folks who assume The Rec is run by the village and/or the schools – but it's not! The camps and pools are funded by memberships and donations, and run by dedicated volunteers. Those volunteers are currently working on plans to sustain The Rec for the next five, ten, and fifty years. Your donation will help ensure that The Rec is here to celebrate its 100th anniversary and beyond!

❤️Giving Tuesday is almost here! 🌊
Please consider giving to the Chagrin Valley Rec, a non-profit community pool proudly funded by its members since 1937. Every donation helps keep this Chagrin Falls gem thriving.

The Safety Committee will meet Monday night, and with the bridge project complete and improvement to the rest of downtown scheduled for the spring, I’ve been thinking about where we should turn our attention next.

Here are some thought I put together to share with you…

I want to hit the ground running in 2026, so at Monday’s meeting we’ll be discussing our priorities for the coming year.
