Montgomery County Veterans Service Commission

Montgomery County Veterans Service Commission is dedicated to serving Montgomery County veterans in their time of need. The Montgomery County Veterans Service Commission operates under ORC 5901.

How it began

In May 1896 after the Civil War, the Ohio Legislature passed the Soldiers Relief Commission, now known as the Veterans Service Commission. The agency provides two distinct services:

Assistance when dealing with the VA, including compensation claims and survivors benefits. Financial assistance to eligible veterans and family members who have a demonstrated need. The Montgomery County

Veterans Service Commission has five members appointed by the Montgomery County Common Please Court. The five appointed members are representatives from:

American Legion; Veterans of Foreign Wars; Disabled American Veterans; AMVETS ; and either Military Order of the Purple Heart, the Vietnam Veterans of America, or the Korean War Veterans Association.

Happy Birthday to the United States Marine Corps!

Established in 1775, its core values are honor, courage, and commitment, and its motto is Semper Fidelis. The U.S. Marine Corps is a naval-based expeditionary force serving as a rapid-response, combined-arms force for land, sea, and air operations with a core mission of power projection.

For today, let's forget jokes about the Navy and crayons. Just for today.
