The 2027 Ojai Arts Grants cycle opens Sept. 1, 2026. Local artists, arts nonprofits and creative community leaders are encouraged to apply for funding that enriches Ojai’s arts culture.

Applications are due Sept. 30. Materials, guidelines and the full timeline will be available on the Arts Commission webpage at Ojai.ca.gov/160/Arts-Commission

Here is the schedule for the week: 🚧

Monday, Aug. 31: Milling on Sierra Rd., Chico Rd. and El Paseo Rd.; paving on Raymond St. and Libbey Ave. (Chico Rd. will be closed, please follow detours.)

Tuesday, Sept. 1: Milling on Bryant St.; paving on El Toro Rd. and El Camino. (El Toro Rd. and El Camino will be closed, please follow detours.)

Wednesday, Sept. 2: Milling on Bryant St. and W. T**a T**a Dr.; paving on Palomar Rd. (Palomar Rd. will be closed, please follow detours.)

Thursday, Sept. 3: Milling on W. T**a T**a Dr.; paving on Bryant St.

Four public meetings are scheduled this week in Ojai. Attend in person, via Zoom or online. 📅

The Public Safety Commission meets on Monday Aug. 24 at 1 p.m. in the Ojai City Hall Council Chambers (401 S. Ventura St.). 🛡️

The City Council meets Tuesday, Aug. 25, at 6 p.m. at Kent Hall (111 W. Santa Ana St.). 🤝

A Public Safety Town Hall, "A Community Conversation on Public Safety & Immigration," will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 26, at 6 p.m. at Kent Hall (111 W. Santa Ana St.). Led by Councilmember Rule and Sheriff Fryhoff, the session will address local immigration enforcement policies and community questions. 🏛️

The OBGMA Board meets Thursday, Aug. 27, at 3 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers (401 S. Ventura St.). 💡

Road improvements continue in Ojai! Milling and street dig-out work will be underway the week of August 24. Please plan for partial lane closures, minor delays and exercise caution around workers and flaggers. 🚘

Here is the schedule for the week: 🚧

Monday, Aug. 24: Dig-out work will take place on S. Montgomery St. and S. Fulton St.

Tuesday, Aug. 25: Dig-out work will take place on S. Blanche St., S. Signal St., Sierra Rd., Chico Rd. and El Paseo Rd.

Wednesday, Aug. 26: Dig-outs will continue on El Paseo Rd., alongside grinding work on Raymond St. and Libbey Ave.

Thursday, Aug. 27: Grinding continues on Libbey Ave. and moves to El Toro Rd. (between Palomar and Foothill Rd.) and El Camino (between Palomar and El Toro Rd.).

Friday, Aug. 28: Grinding work continues on El Camino and moves to Palomar Rd. (between El Toro and Bristol Rd.).

Keeping your pet leashed prevents unexpected conflicts with other dogs and residents, protects local wildlife and keeps your pet safe from traffic and other hazards.
