Please share with your Ojai friends and neighbors. We're aware that certain people are advocating for a return to at large voting in the city and that a lot of disinformation is flooding social media. We're a chartered democratic club and we're here to tell you that at large voting runs counter to the California democratic party platform, and directly against the California Voting Rights act, which is meant to preserve local government so that wealthy people or those with an agenda can't seek to buy or influence a city's election with their own slate. Not only that, but if Ojai attempts this, we would be the only city besides republican run Huntington Beach to attempt a roll back and like them, we would be opening the city to a massive lawsuit - one we would lose and which would cost millions. ASK YOURSELF WHO IS LOOKING TO BENEFIT FROM THIS AND WHY. And if they're claiming to be Democrats, we invite you to also question whether they are in fact democrats or democrats in name only. Because, what democrat or 'democratic' club, would put themselves on the side of the right-wing majority Supreme Court decision that just gutted voting rights?
