HELP NEEDED for CAPA Beaufort

CAPA Beaufort's foster homes are currently caring for 40 children, and they need your help replenishing its Foster Care Closet. When children enter foster care, they often arrive with very little. Your generosity helps us provide the clothing, diapers, shoes, toiletries, and other essentials they need from day one.
CAPA is collecting new and gently used children’s items of all sizes—from preemie clothing, diapers, and pull-ups to clothing, shoes, and everyday essentials for older children.
Donations can be dropped off at the CAPA office:

Our team is in Columbia this week from the Training Institute on Strangulation Prevention, a program of Alliance for HOPE International, and the Department of Justice’s National Indian Country Training Initiative in a dynamic, hands-on 3.5-day course on strangulation and suffocation murders.🚔📚

They’re learning from leading national experts about hidden homicides, staged crime scenes, and how to better identify and investigate strangulation and suffocation‑related deaths. 🔍⚖️

This advanced, hands‑on training strengthens our ability to support victims, collaborate across agencies, and build stronger, evidence‑based cases. 💙🤝

We’re grateful for the opportunity to grow, learn, and bring this knowledge back to our community. 🌟

🌟 Advocating for Victims & Survivors in DC! 🌟

VSC Director Michelle Fraser spent the week of May 18 in Washington, DC for Alliance for HOPE International’s FJC Advocacy Days. 🇺🇸✨

Over two days on Capitol Hill, Michelle met with staffers from several congressional offices to highlight critical needs for victims and families. The group is advocating for:
🔹 Crime Victim Fund Stabilization Act (HR909)
🔹 No-cost forensic exams for domestic violence survivors
🔹 Federal support for Family Justice Centers, similar to existing support for Child Advocacy Centers

We’re grateful for the opportunity to raise our voices and champion meaningful support for those impacted by violence. 💙🙌
