🌟 Advocating for Victims & Survivors in DC! 🌟

VSC Director Michelle Fraser spent the week of May 18 in Washington, DC for Alliance for HOPE International’s FJC Advocacy Days. 🇺🇸✨

Over two days on Capitol Hill, Michelle met with staffers from several congressional offices to highlight critical needs for victims and families. The group is advocating for:
🔹 Crime Victim Fund Stabilization Act (HR909)
🔹 No-cost forensic exams for domestic violence survivors
🔹 Federal support for Family Justice Centers, similar to existing support for Child Advocacy Centers

We’re grateful for the opportunity to raise our voices and champion meaningful support for those impacted by violence. 💙🙌

This Memorial Day weekend, we’re wishing our community a safe and meaningful holiday 🇺🇸✨ We take a moment to reflect on and honor the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice. ❤️🤍💙

What if one door could lead to safety, support, and a whole team ready to help? 💜

For 20 years, the Alliance for HOPE International and Family Justice Centers have worked alongside OVW—helping communities build a coordinated, survivor-centered response. In this webinar, Casey and Gael walk through how the Family Justice Center Movement has grown to 150+ centers nationwide, and how the model has evolved to meet changing community needs.

Marnie Shiels also breaks down OVW eligibility guidelines and how Family Justice Centers can identify and apply for the programs that best fit their local goals—so funding supports the right services, at the right time. 🧩

If your community could strengthen its path to safety, what would you want survivors to be able to access in one place? Comment below 👇
