Congratulations to our District Administrator, Audrey Kuipers on being inducted into the Southeast Region Conservation Hall of Fame! This prestigious award, given by the National Association of Conservation Districts Southeast Region recognizes and honors individuals who have significantly impacted conservation practice delivery and partnerships at the local, state, regional, and national levels. Ms. Kuipers encourages and educates landowners and agricultural producers to participate in best management practices and Farm Bill programs. Additionally, she conducts outreach to our future generations regarding the importance of our natural resources. It is not surprising to learn that she is also a conservationist in her personal life. What an outstanding achievement!

Kayley Winter, a student at the Florida Gulf Coast University, is studying how ranchers in Florida make land‑use decisions under different kinds of pressure (such as development, economic, environmental, and social) and how these decisions affect conservation, production, and family succession.

Florida's farmers and ranchers play an important role in conserving water resources and eco systems across the state by implementing FDACS Best management Practices (BMPs).

In 2025, producers worked with FDACS to:
- Maintain over 11,831 enrollments
- Complete 2,275 implementation verification visits of which 75% were completed within Basin Management Action Plans
- Implement over 311 new cost share projects with assistance from FDACS funds in the amount of $11.8 million
