Happy Monday! Today we want to thank our kitchen staff. Cashiers that make sure each child has all of the nutritional components on their trays. Helpers that keep our bars stocked and clean. Servers that make sure the food we serve is safe and portioned properly. And our cooks who prepare our menu items and get the food to our elementaries in time for their lunches, and then turn around and prepare food to feed all of our high school students as well! Thank you for feeding the students of Okemos Public Schools!

Today we want to thank our Kitchen Leads!

Our Kitchen Leads are responsible for many things - among them a clean and orderly kitchen, well-stocked serving bars, and communication from students to management on opportunities in the lunchrooms. OPS Kitchen Leads care so much for our students and work hard to make sure every one of them gets a nutritionally balanced meal.

Just want to give a shout out to our two Food Service drivers that deliver to 8 different schools almost every day, ensuring that each building gets what it needs in order to serve our students! Thanks Pat and Derek!

Today we are thankful for our local farms supplying us with quality produce! Shout out to Blue Mitten Farms who we regularly receive beautiful lettuce from for our salads and wraps.

Happy November, also known as National Gratitude Month. We will be sharing things our department is grateful for throughout the month, but today we thank our Food Services Staff! 36+ people in Food Services keep the food hot and the salad bars full. We served 3,168 meals YESTERDAY!
