I hope you'll join me this Memorial Day in honoring the Oklahomans who were taken too soon in sacrifice to our country.

Freedom isn’t free. We only have the freedoms that we do because so many brave men and women lost their lives fighting for something much bigger. May we never forget their courage and sacrifice.

I had some outstanding Senate pages who helped my office and the residents of Senate District 20 this session. The Senate page program gives high school students a front-row seat to the legislative process. It's the perfect program for students who want to learn more about civics and state government.

Thank you to Madalyn Beck, Kade Burgess, Ridge Garrett and Alanis Robles for all their hard work this session.

Congratulations to the Kumback Lunch on 100 wonderful years of serving the Perry community! I had a blast emceeing what had to be one of the best centennial celebrations I've ever attended.

This Perry institution has been bringing people together for generations. Here’s to the next 100 years!

The parking spaces along Delaware Ave. are hard to come by anyway, but the city closed off a whole block beside the Noble County Courthouse on a lovely May morning to celebrate, not a comeback, but…

I have the distinct honor of representing Oklahoma's only HBCU, and it was wonderful to welcome all the folks from Langston to the Capitol this past week. Thanks to Dr. Ruth Ray Jackson, Sherman Lewis and all the administrators, faculty and students who visited the Senate during Langston Day. Langston continues to be a tremendous asset for our state.

It's always great to have students from the district visit the Capitol to learn more about their state government. Today, I got to chat with Kara Tarrant and students in her AP U.S. government class at Guthrie High School about the legislative process.

And just a couple of weeks ago, the Senate gave a warm welcome to Perry teacher Kim Spillman and her students. They were visiting the Capitol to get a firsthand look at how a bill becomes a law. My door is always open for constituents.
