Oklahoma Advanced Air Mobility and UAS

Oklahoma Advanced Air Mobility and UAS Governor Kevin Stitt signed Senate Bill 659 on Wednesday, May 5th which created the Unmanned Aircraft Systems Development Act of 2021.

The Unmanned Aircraft Systems Development Act of 2021 established the Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission as the clearinghouse for UAS in the State and designated the Commission as the lead agency to promote, enhance, develop, and ensure safety of UAS. The Act established the Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission as the clearinghouse for unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) in the State and designated the Commis

sion as the lead agency to promote, enhance, develop, and ensure safety of UAS. Upon signing the legislation, Gov. Stitt said, “Both the government and private sectors have started to take advantage of UAS and that will continue to increase as we look to integrate this great technology into our state’s airspace. It makes sense for the state to act positively, designating our State Aeronautics agency as the UAS “clearinghouse” for Oklahoma. They will look to organize the state’s UAS assets so that we can determine our best flight path forward. It is our goal to move this coalition of partners toward a collective strategy in order to launch the state’s UAS industry into being a Top 10 asset.”

🥎 Softball Fans & Drone Pilots! 🥎

We are so excited to welcome everyone back to OKC for the College Softball World Series starting tomorrow! The energy at the complex is unmatched, and we want to make sure everyone has a safe, incredible experience.

To keep the players, fans, and stadium staff safe, the Federal Aviation Administration has established a Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) for drones over the area (NOTAM FDC 6/2193):

FAA Website - https://tfr.faa.gov/tfr3/?page=detail_6_2193

Here is what you need to know before you fly:

📍 Where: A 1-nautical-mile radius around Devon Park / the Softball Complex (technically defined as 9 miles east of the Wiley Post VOR, coordinates: 35°31'29"N, 97°27'49"W).

🛑 What: All UAS / Drone flight operations are prohibited from the ground up to 400 feet.

⏰ When: Starting Thursday, May 28 at 8:00am through Friday, June 5 at midnight.

Any drone operations required for safety, security, or compliance oversight must be coordinated and authorized directly through our law enforcement Point of Contact prior to takeoff.

Let’s leave the high-flying action to the athletes on the field! Thank you for helping us keep the skies clear and the ballpark safe.

Closing the Opening Keynote, Jennifer Hankins, Managing Director, Tulsa Innovation Labs was on the stage at XPONENTIAL 2026 along with Bobby Healy, Founder, Manna Air Delivery discussing “Why Here, Why Now: From Where It's Build to How It Scales”.

To attract this growing industry what investments are cities making, specifically Tulsa, to attract this growing industry? Policy momentum, local strategy, and ecosystem readiness decisions are key.

The conversation about the differences between a “Tech” company and a “Logistics” company was very enlightening. The unit cost per delivery will determine profitability and success of drone delivery companies.

Biggest takeaway, MANNA is moving lock, stock, and barrel to Tulsa, Oklahoma!
