Registration is now open for the Spring sessions of Total Wellness, a free 8-week program for adults who want to improve their health. The program focuses on safe weight loss and on managing or preventing diabetes, prediabetes, and high blood pressure, while helping participants build healthy habits with support throughout the entire process. Classes will be available in South and North Oklahoma City and are led by health professionals.

Initiative Foods is issuing a recall on the Tippy Toes brand of the Apple Pear Banana Fruit puree due to elevated levels of patulin. Patulin is a toxin produced by mold naturally found on certain fruits, such as apples. Long term exposure from eating patulin can lead to some health consequences like headache, fever, nausea and possibly more severe issues such as immune suppression and nerve damage. This product was distributed to various retail grocery stores in the United States. The affected product has a best buy date on 7/17/2026. If you have the affected product in your home, dispose of it. If you see this product on shelves being sold, please notify OCCHD Food Safety and Environmental Health at 405-425-4400.

Ambrosia Brands is recalling certain lots of the Rosabella Moringa Capsules due to a possible Salmonella contamination. Salmonella can cause symptoms such as fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. Symptoms can be more severe in children, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems. The affected product was sold online via tryrosabella.com and also through TikTok Shop. According to Ambrosia Brands, the product could have been distributed through other unauthorized parties such as eBay and Shein. Expiration dates of the affected product range from 03/2027 to 11/2027. This investigation is ongoing with the FDA. If you have any of the affected product, do not consume it and discard it. Please refer to the FDA link to see if your product is affected by this recall. If you see these products being sold, please contact OCCHD Food Safety and Environmental Health at 405-425-4400.
