Is your cargo secure? If it flies out, you can be held legally and financially responsible.

An unsecured load can change a life, including yours, in a split second. At highway speeds, loose items such as furniture, tools, or building materials can behave like missiles, shattering windshields and causing devastating crashes.

Even if it's not your truck, IT’S YOUR responsibility. Before you hit the open road, remember these three rules:

1. Do not rely on weight: Wind currents easily lift heavy items out of truck beds. Strap them down regardless of weight.

2. Use the right gear: Ropes loosen under pressure. Use heavy-duty ratchet straps, cargo nets, or heavy tarps to lock down items completely.

3. Do the mirror check: Look back and ask yourself if you would feel safe driving directly behind your own vehicle. If the answer is no, pull over and secure it.

Oklahoma, let’s keep our highways clear and our drivers safe. Secure your load every trip, every time.

Big day for the cadets of the 75th Oklahoma Highway Patrol Academy as they received a major milestone in their training journey.

With graduation still ahead on August 21, the Chief announced each cadet’s future Troop assignment across Oklahoma - giving them their first look at where they’ll begin serving once they complete the academy. After months of hard work, discipline, and preparation, those assignments make the finish line feel a little closer.

Plenty of training still ahead, but today marks a memorable step toward becoming the next generation of Oklahoma’s state troopers.

Congratulations to Trooper Patrick Cantrell #410 on earning his blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu! This milestone typically takes one to three years of consistent training to achieve. Trooper Cantrell, keep up the great work as you continue your jiu-jitsu journey.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has recognized the value of jiu-jitsu training since 1937. We encourage our troopers to train regularly and are grateful for the jiu-jitsu academies across Oklahoma that support and welcome them.

Thank you, Whitney, for the kind message!

Our troopers know their job goes beyond simply answering the call. Serving others and helping people in their time of need is at the heart of what they do every day. Whitney wrote us and said:

“I wanted to take a moment to recognize Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Austin Martin for the kindness and professionalism he showed my family following an accident yesterday.

My two young boys were understandably scared and anxious after the crash, but Trooper Martin went above and beyond to help them feel safe and comfortable. He gave them stickers and even let them activate the lights and sirens on his patrol vehicle. What may have seemed like a small gesture made a huge impact on them during a very stressful situation.

His patience, compassion, and willingness to connect with my children helped turn a frightening experience into one they will remember positively. It also helped show them that law enforcement officers are there to help and protect people.

I truly appreciate the kindness he showed our family throughout the entire process and wanted to make sure his efforts were recognized. Trooper Martin represented the Oklahoma Highway Patrol exceptionally well, and we are grateful for his service.

Sincerely,

Whitney S.”

Keep making us proud Trooper Martin!

What an incredible honor! This morning, we had the privilege of serving as the grand finale of The Route 66 Capital Cruise parade in our beloved ’37 Ford.

Tulsa came together for a truly historic celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Mother Road, with a spectacular 5.5-mile parade along historic 11th Street from Yale Avenue to Denver Avenue.

To make the day even more memorable, the event officially set a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the Largest Parade of Classic Cars, with an astounding 3,596 vehicles participating!

We’re grateful to have been part of such a landmark moment in Route 66 history and to share the road with thousands of fellow classic car enthusiasts.
