"This is our opportunity. It's an amazing opportunity... have a sense of urgency, take it seriously and get out to vote... I want to show the country that we're serious, that we have emerged as a top 20 city and we have every intention of staying there...[Malcolm Gladwell] went on Bill Simmons' [podcast] and said basically, ...'I don't think Oklahoma City should even have a team' -- that's a consensus view everywhere but Oklahoma City, and I obviously bristle at that...

I want to show this world and this country that Oklahoma City is determined to keep investing in ourselves and determined to keep being a big league city, so I encourage people to get out [to vote].... please vote, we need your support. Don't take it for granted. We don't want anyone to wake up on December 13 with regret while 18 mayors and ownership groups are all swooping in because they see blood in the water."

"Have a sense of urgency -- take that extra step... call somebody, email somebody, post on social media, just don't take it for granted... I want to make a statement to the country that we're not going anywhere, because I guarantee you everybody else does not think we should have this team and does not think that we're the city we believe ourselves to be even after these 15 years of having the Thunder. Let's make a statement to the world about who Oklahoma City is and who we aspire to continue being, and let's get out and vote on December 12."
