SCS FINAL ANNOUNCEMENTS -
As Sovereign is coming to a close, it’s important that we keep our families informed about the final few days of school and what comes next. We thank you all for your support and for allowing us to educate your children.

FINAL WEEK OF SCHOOL-
Buffalo Tour & Picnic (Middle School) - Concho, OK. Tuesday, May 9th.
Buffalo Tour & Picnic (High School) - Concho, OK. Wednesday, May 9th.
Last day in-person for 5th through 8th Grade: Tuesday, May 9th, 2023.
Last day in-person for 9th through 12th Grade: Thursday, May 11th, 2023.

Why will this be the last in-person day?
This decision was made as a staff. Sovereign’s lease for the property is coming to an end. Teacher contracts end after next week. In order to prepare for a proper transition, finalize records, and vacate the property, we need all hands on deck. Any volunteers are appreciated - if you’re interested in volunteering, please e-mail [email protected]. We will be inventorying, moving furniture, donating items, and cleaning indoors and outdoors.

RETURNING SCHOOL PROPERTY-
The State requires that property purchased with Sovereign funds must be returned. All SCS property, including Chromebooks and Chargers must be returned. Students can begin dropping off their items this week. Drop off for next week will be Monday through Friday from 8-4PM. Computers given to students by TEDNA will not be collected - this only applies to 9-12th Grade TEDNA ACE Students.

GRADES, RECORDS, AND TRANSCRIPTS-
Grades are currently being input into the system. Grades, records, and transcripts will be available for pick-up starting next Tuesday. You can stop by between 8-4PM Tuesday through Friday to get a copy. All records will be turned over to the State Department of Education upon closure. After closure, you will be required to reach out to the state to gain access.

SENIOR ACTIVITIES-
Our Senior Activities will be held on Wednesday, May 17th. Report time: 9AM. We will conclude in the afternoon, at approximately 3PM. It’s a surprise!

GRADUATION-
SCS Graduation will be held on Friday, May 19th at 6:30pm at the First Americans Musuem (FAM Five Moons Theater).

Tomorrow, Thursday, May 4th, Sovereign will be taking High Schoolers on a field trip to Scissortail Park for outdoor activities and a picnic. We will depart in the morning, after 1st period. Students will arrive to school at the normal time and we will leave as a group. Please dress appropriately for the weather. Lunch is provided. We will return shortly after lunch. If you wish to bring any outdoor game or sports equipment, you may do so. If you have any questions, please email [email protected] or call (405)708-5010.
