Oklahoma Emergency Responders Assistance Program

Oklahoma Emergency Responders Assistance Program OKERAP is a non-profit organization that was established after the model of SCLEAP (South Carolina Law Enforcement Assistance Program.)

OKLEAP/ERAP is a non-profit organization that was established after the Post Critical Incident Seminar (PCIS) model that has been used by the Federal Bureau of Investigations since 1985. OKLEAP mission is to to ensure that those who serve and protect the citizens of Oklahoma are never alone. That our First Responders and their families have the help and resources to deal with critical incidents th

at they are exposed to on and off of their jobs. The trauma on our First Responders is not only felt by them but also by those they work around as well as their loved ones. This program was established so that their are resources to these men and women at no cost to them, their families or their departments. Trauma that our first Responders experience comes in a variety of ways throughout their careers both on and off the job. OKERAP has made it our mission that they never are alone!

Prayers to those who serve and prayers to folks like this good man that serve those who serve and ask for nothing in return. Those behind the scenes you rarely hear about doing remarkable work.

Prayers for our Officer and all who loved her.

So many of you prayed hard for our friend Brandon Owens recently. We lost a warrior, but he fought as he lived with everything he had. His family and Church provide us this message.

Brandon tells us one of many stories here, take a minute and listen if you will, it will touch your heart.

This is the last phone conversation I had with Brandon. It was just after the U.S. vacated Afghanistan, and we left people behind. Brandon called me to just talk. As we were closing out our conversation, Brandon said "I have something to tell you, and you are not going to like it." So, I asked him, what's going on? Brandon said you know those we left behind in Afghanistan and need to get home? I said yes, he said, "Doug, I need to go and help them, I have the skills and have been trained to do this, they need help, and I need to go.... The conversation went on for a little longer as I made him a promise, and he made me a promise.

This is how Brandon lived his life, to serve and protect those who cannot protect themselves even if it meant putting his life on the line.

Arch Angel Michael has another warrior standing with him. We will never forget Brandon Owens, John Harris, and Richard Stephens.

Friends, brothers, and warriors, you are missed.

Please know that ERAP is engaged in raising funds for these good people to travel to D.C. Through the generous donation of a few of our contributors, we will be assisting. This is a wonderful story about one of my best friends, Sgt. John Harris. Det. Lake is spot on, I have so many memories of conversations with John regarding his dream and huge desire to help every emergency responder, and their families. I am proud of John's legacy and honored to call him a friend and brother. It cannot go without saying the love of Michelle, and his family allowed him to invest so much of himself to do God's work. Never to forget Sgt. John Harris, my friend, and brother in service for so many.

If any of our ERAP family would like to assist, please reach out to me. It is a privilege to assist the Oklahoma C.O.P.S organization in sending our families to D.C.
