May is motorcycle safety awareness month. What better way to close out the month than by offering our Safe Rider motorcycle skills/safety course FREE OF CHARGE, if you register today!
But here is the catch, our courses are always free to the rider! Through a partnership with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol we provide motorcycle safety courses across our great state. Our courses are meant to improve riders skills with the overall goal of reducing collisions involving motorcycles.
Our courses are instructed by State Troopers assigned to the OHP Motors Unit. They will work hands on with riders to improve their skills in the following areas:
- Clutch Friction Zone
- Rapid Braking Techniques
- Cone Patterns
- Rules of the road
- Maneuvering in tight spaces
- Better control of your motorcycle
Requirements:
- Street Legal Motorcycle
- Valid 'L' Endorsed Driver's License (Previously 'M')
- Insurance
- Helmet
- Eye Protection
- Gloves
- Long Sleeve Shirt
- Boots that cover the ankle
Our Fall 2026 course dates/locations
Durant- August 29th
Shawnee- September 19th
Stillwater- September 26th
Edmond- October 10th
El Reno- October 24th
The courses begin at 8am and runs through usually 2pm, depending on the number of riders we have attend.
Upon completion of this course, riders will be provided a certificate to provide to their insurance provider for discounts on their insurance premiums.
Our Safe Rider courses are not designed to teach a person who has never ridden a motorcycle. They are meant to help riders improve on their basic riding skills.
