We’re hiring for our Winter Shelter!

As we prepare to open our Winter Shelter on November 1, we’re looking for seasonal advocates and janitors to join our team for the 2026-27 season.

Our Winter Shelter provides a safe, welcoming place for people experiencing homelessness during the coldest months of the year. Open 7 nights a week from November 1 through March 31, the shelter has 300 beds, kennel space for pets, meals, storage space, restrooms, and connections to services and resources.

Our seasonal advocates play an important role, welcoming guests, helping meet immediate needs, and connecting people with resources and services. Onboarding for advocates will begin on October 19th; it is paid and mandatory.

Our janitorial team helps keep the shelter clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone who comes through the doors.

Congratulations to The Homeless Alliance for having achieved Oklahoma Family Positive Workplace Certification at the Impact Level.

A family-positive workplace is an employer that offers policies to help employees balance their work and family obligations. Employers with family-friendly policies attract and retain better talent, because families can more easily fulfill their family and work commitments.

We did it! Our second ever HOMECOMING was a huge success. We met our $200,000 Homecoming match challenge — all thanks to you.💙

Our friends at the Gasaway Family Foundation and the Arnall Family Foundation generously matched all contributions to the HOMECOMING campaign. We’re so grateful to everyone who donated, attended, sponsored, volunteered and helped make our second-ever Homecoming such a success.

And now, we have even more exciting news... Our friends at Inasmuch Foundation are keeping the momentum going with a new $100,000 matching gift challenge!

Through December 31, unrestricted donations to the Homeless Alliance will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $100,000. That means every gift can go twice as far to provide basic needs, housing assistance, and supportive services that help our neighbors move from homelessness to housing and stability.

This month, we celebrate the 15th anniversary of the opening of our WestTown Resource Campus. 🎉 On it's first day, we had 80 guests in our Day Shelter. Now, we serve an average of 342 daily!

Since the Homeless Alliance was founded in 2004, our organization has grown and evolved alongside our community while remaining committed to helping our neighbors experiencing homelessness through collaboration and innovation. From meeting basic needs to helping people find and maintain housing, that commitment shapes everything we do.

We're excited to announce our NEW mission and vision statements that better communicate the life-changing work we do at the Homeless Alliance each day!

Our Mission: The Homeless Alliance exists to open doors to hope, housing, and stability for our neighbors experiencing homelessness.

Our Vision: An Oklahoma City where everyone belongs, everyone is housed, and any experience of homelessness is rare, brief, and met with compassion.

Big news for the Homeless Alliance!

We’re incredibly grateful to the Oklahoma City Community Foundation for awarding us a $239,250 grant through its new Bridge OKC Fund to support our goal to expand mental health care for our neighbors experiencing homelessness.

We see more than 300 people at our Day Shelter each day for meals, showers, and connections to services. This funding will help us make important upgrades to our Day Shelter as we work toward becoming a certified behavioral health provider. This will allow us to expand access to on-site mental health care and create an ongoing, sustainable source of funding for these services.

By making more mental health care available in a place hundreds of our neighbors already turn to each day, we can remove barriers and better support people on their path home!

​​Our silent auction will feature incredible travel experiences from AmFund with destinations across the world. Trips to the Greek Islands, Wine Country, an African safari, Portugal, Tuscany, and more will be up for bid at Homecoming! All trips are for two people with 3 full years to make plans!

It's going to be a fun evening of dancing, drinks, delicious food, a silent auction, and community. TV sideline reporter Nick Gallo will emcee the evening, with live music by Soft Hands. Best of all, you'll be helping more neighbors move from homelessness to housing and stability!
