That’s a wrap on ! ⛓️‍💥

For 30 days, we’ve shared real stories, real stats, and the every day work happening behind the scenes at Diversion Hub to make it all possible. Thank you for following along!

It’s a wrap on 30 days, but there’s more to come… 🥁 We’re expanding to rural Oklahoma!

Rural Oklahomans often face the criminal legal system without access to the same support and resources available in more urban areas. That’s why we’re opening satellite offices in El Reno and Norman, bringing wraparound services to more communities and helping reduce recidivism where support is needed.

Thank you for 30 Days. Here’s to what’s next!

Our second Empowered to Employment event of the year drew over 200 jobseekers last week to speak with 41 partner organizations about employment opportunities as well as resources and training support. Attendees received resume assistance, on-site interviews, training and apprenticeship options, and help matching with fair chance employers.

You might have caught our feature on News 9's Something Good and on KFOR. The day before the fair, our Styled for Success event helped clients get ready for the big day, with:

39 haircuts ✂️
69 professional outfits 💼
40 professional headshots 📸

Thank you to our vendors, partners, and donors (particularly ) for helping us build an empowered workforce!

Joe never imagined he’d work for DHub. He wasn’t sure where he’d work after he moved back to Oklahoma and countless employers turned him down due to his criminal record. “It was almost impossible to get work before I started an apprenticeship at a tattoo shop,” Joe said.

After he relapsed, he was admitted into Drug Court and discovered the power of a supportive team. His recovery navigator, Shannon, encouraged him to apply to DHub after he graduated. Joe remembers her telling him, “We’re offering you the opportunity to help people like yourself.”

Today, Joe continues practicing his art and tattooing in his free time, but his primary focus is supporting clients in Drug Court, the same program he graduated from. “The proudest time is when we get to see a family come back together. That means the world to them,” he said. “We use our paths to help create positive growth in the community.”

Shannon, who was Joe’s recovery navigator, is now his supervisor at DHub. Joe had clients of his own who have also joined our staff, mentees becoming mentors to continue breaking cycles of incarceration.

Growth is happening in our classrooms every week. 🧑‍🏫💚

Our new facility in OKC offers inviting, dedicated spaces for classes where clients build life skills, access recovery support, participate in group learning, and begin to see a different path forward.

One of the people guiding this work is Jason. A graduate of Treatment Courts himself, Jason serves as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist, using his experience to mentor and support class attendees.

There’s power in learning alongside people who understand your journey. Across all of our offices, this sense of community is helping clients build the mindset and momentum to change their trajectory for good.

We're back with another client story. Meet Adrian 👋

When we met Adrian, he was facing significant challenges and a difficult path forward. He’s been working hard to improve his situation, and his progress has been inspiring.

Adrian completed treatment through Catalyst Behavioral Services and has continued his growth with our community partner, SidexSide OKC. He’s maintained his sobriety, is homeschooling his children, and has even helped inspire healthier choices within his own family.

As a father of 8 (including multiple sets of twins!) Adrian has made it his mission to become the best version of himself for his family. His case manager, McKenzie Conley said, “It’s been so neat to watch his growth.”

Adrian's story isn't over yet, and we’re cheering him on every step of the way. 💚

When we help clients, we also help their families.

Our work has an intergenerational impact. When someone faces incarceration, their absence destabilizes their family and community too. One of the most detrimental effects is when an incarcerated parent’s child must enter the foster care system.

According to Prison Policy Initiative's 2022 study, 3,400 state prison incarcerated parents reported their child ended up in the foster care system. Helping our clients divert the criminal legal system helps keep families together.

We provide free wraparound services, which means team-based, coordinated holistic support for individuals and their families. From parenting classes to grief support classes for children, our stabilizing resources help our clients make better lives for themselves and their families.

Big thanks to our embedded on-site partners 🫂

We couldn’t do what we do without them. They help us meet client needs every day by providing mission-aligned services. Not only is having partners onsite more cost-efficient for DHub, but it means greater accessibility to clients, who can get more done in a single visit. This lowers the barrier for clients to get what they need and helps them break the cycle.

📸 Pictured here are three of our on-site partners from the Homeless Alliance and CREOKS along with Austin, our Community Partner Coordinator.

Thank you to our on-site partners, Assist Wireless, The Bail Project, Calm Waters, City Care, CREOKS, Oklahoma Human Services, HeartLine, Inc., The Homeless Alliance, Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma, Inc., NorthCare, Red Rock Behavioral Health Services, Star's ADSAC School & Assessments, STAAR Foundation, Upward Transitions and dozens of other off-site organizations who make our work possible.

These numbers represent real people. Our clients consistently show up to court, stay compliant while on probation, and follow through on diversion programs because they’re committed to change and they have the support to help them get there.

These outcomes are proof that when people are met with the right resources and help, breaking the cycle is possible.
