FAQ FRIDAY | Brand Registration
❓ What is Brand Registration & why does it matter?

Brand Registration is required for suppliers and importers who want to sell alcoholic beverage products in Oklahoma. Registering brands with the Oklahoma ABLE Commission helps ensure compliance with state and federal laws and allows products to be legally sold in Oklahoma.
Why it matters:
✔️ Ensures compliance with Oklahoma law
✔️ Promotes accountability and transparency
✔️ Helps maintain accurate product records
✔️ Prevents delays, violations, and enforcement issues
Before a product can legally enter the Oklahoma market, it must be properly registered and approved.

FAQ FRIDAY | Retail Spirits Store
❓ Where can a retail spirits store purchase alcoholic beverages?

Alcoholic beverages must be purchased from a licensed wine & spirits wholesaler, beer distributor, holder of a small brewer self-distribution license, or holder of a winemaker self-distribution license.
In this case, it is prohibited to purchase alcoholic beverages from another retailer or from a wholesaler club (e.g., Sam’s, Costco, etc.).

This Memorial Day Weekend, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country and our freedoms. Memorial Day is a time to reflect on their courage, dedication, and service to the United States.

As families and friends gather across Oklahoma, the Oklahoma ABLE Commission encourages everyone to celebrate responsibly and prioritize safety.

Memorial Day also marks the beginning of the “100 Deadliest Days”, the period between Memorial Day and Labor Day when impaired-driving crashes and traffic fatalities historically increase nationwide.

If your plans include alcohol, plan before you party:
✔️ Designate a sober driver
✔️ Use a rideshare, Uber, Lyft
✔️ Stay where you are if impaired
✔️ Never let friends or loved ones drive impaired
Drive sober. Arrive alive. Help keep Oklahoma roads safe while honoring the true meaning of Memorial Day.

As graduation season begins, the Oklahoma Alcoholic Beverage Laws Enforcement Commission reminds parents and community members to celebrate responsibly.

Hosting a graduation party comes with legal responsibilities, providing alcohol to anyone under 21 or allowing underage drinking on your property can lead to serious consequences under Oklahoma law.

Parents and guardians play a critical role in preventing teen alcohol access. Talk with your teens about expectations, monitor gatherings closely, and never assume “someone else is supervising.” A safe celebration starts with responsible decisions.

Let’s work together to keep Oklahoma students safe during graduation season.
