We honor 81 service members killed or missing in action from WWII, the Korean War and the Vietnam War with two powerful memorials.

Navy Park at New Century AirCenter commemorates 24 Navy and Marine aviators from WWII and the Korean War, many of whom trained at the former Olathe Naval Air Station ("The Prairie Navy").

The Vietnam Memorial Plaza at Antioch Park in Merriam, dedicated in 1974, lists and honors 57 Johnson County soldiers lost in that war.

We are forever grateful for their service and sacrifice. ❤️

Election workers are fundamental to ensuring individuals’ right to vote by assisting voters from the moment they enter a polling location to when they leave with their 'I voted' sticker. 🇺🇸🗳️

Johnson County Election Office will need about 1,200 election workers for each election this year. Their responsibilities at the polls are to greet voters, help with check-in, make sure they understand how to use the voting equipment. ✅

It’s the last day of ! Finishing strong, we are spotlighting a newer election worker today, Janet. ✨🎉

She started working elections last year in Florida. After moving to Kansas a little over a year ago, Janet continues her civic duty with Johnson County and absolutely loves it. She was pleasantly surprised by the midwestern kindness from her fellow election workers and looks forward to many more election seasons with them.

Thank you, Janet!
