Are you a caregiver to a loved one? If so, you may be experiencing a higher level of stress than non-caregivers. Self-care is so important and we can offer you guidance on how to do that! See below to register for Powerful Tools for Caregivers virtual class offered by our friends at Midway District, K-State Research and Extension.

Caregivers have higher levels of stress than non-caregivers. If you are serving as a
caregiver to a loved one, we want you to know you are fulfilling a valuable role! We also want you to know, that it is ok to take care of yourself, too. We can help with that!

K-State Research and Extension is pleased to provide Powerful Tools for Caregivers, a virtual
educational series designed to help reduce stress, improve self-confidence, communicate feelings better, balance life, increase ability to make tough decisions, and locate helpful resources.

See below for class dates and registration info. Contact FCS Agent Jessica Kootz with any questions.

The Jo Co EMFVs wrapped up day 5 & 6 of training this week. Wednesday was all about protein where we learned about beef nutrition and production from dietitian Abby Heidari from the Kansas Beef Council. EMFV and dietitian Pam Henry helped present on Pulses, and videos from other EMFVs demonstrated how to make tasty recipes with these healthy plant-based proteins. We also explored the worlds of pork, poultry, eggs and fish. Today, we sat in on the Jo Co EMFVs’ “Discovering Mexican Cuisine” advanced training, then went into the kitchen for our food preservation lab. Only two days left!
